In 2010 businesses of all shapes and sizes are bracing themselves for an extremely challenging year ahead. They know that their prices need to be competitive and their customer service has to be first class. But the big question is "How do I even get potential customers interested in my business in the first place?"
We're living in an age where using the internet to find information is an everyday habit for most people. However no technology can ever replace the huge benefit that a real, hard copy of information brings for potential customers - good brochures can create that vital first impression which web pages simply can't convey.
Greg Harding is a commercial photographer specialising in the healthcare, education and scientific sectors. For him, a good brochure doesn't just need to be well written - after all, they say that a picture can tell a thousand words!
Greg explains:
"Some of the brochures I've taken photographs for have been really demanding. For example I was commissioned to take images for the Bridgewater Hospital's new brochure. It was a tough job because they wanted to convey an image of high quality healthcare delivered with a personal touch - but they had no equipment, let alone patients, as it hadn't opened yet! But we got the job done - and one experienced health journalist didn't believe they were bespoke images!"
Working with real patients brings a unique dimension to his work - as a fully qualified Medical Photographer Greg is aware of sensitive issues such as patient confidentiality and understanding consent. Manchester Fertility Services needed a brochure for their patients undergoing highly emotional investigations and treatments. Specially created photographs meant that Greg worked closely with their designers and writers - because words can say what you want but a picture tells the whole story.
Recently Greg has been working with the construction industry, helping them create a unique and imaginative record of large, successful building projects. You can shout all you like about how good your business is - but sometimes you need to prove it! With over 20 years of commercial photography experience gained across a diverse range of fields - from science and education through to research and healthcare - anyone looking to have that distinct, competitive edge to the images in their brochures knows that Greg can help them succeed.
